Everyone who wants to be the best at something has a coach. Think of a coach as a guide who takes you from where you are now to where you want to be. They are all types of coaches. A life coach, a spiritual coach, and a relationship coach and a health and wellness coach just to name a few. There is no legal definition for coach. So how do you find a good coach when everyone says they are a coach?
Credentials Matter
Look for letters behind your professional coach’s name. Check to make sure that your coach is certified and what their certification means or that they have the right level of education.
Look to see who gives out the certification. It is important that the certification matches the level of impact. For instance, there are no specific licensing or certification requirements to start a life coach career. However, a major issue in the life coaching industry is that it’s not regulated. Anyone can call themselves a life/professional/personal coach. As a result, the quality of coaching can vary.
But, there is an organization called the International Coach Federation (ICF). This organization accredits coach training programs and ensures they meet a certain standard. When you begin meeting with life coaches, ask them which training program they completed and if…
